40mm mesh size, 'extra strong' - olive green & black - yarn 1.5mm Ø..
40mm mesh size, 'extra strong' - olive green & black - yarn 1.5mm Ø..
Due to the universal mesh size, these cat nets can be used for cats of all sizes. Very strong with a tear strength of approx. 50 kg per thread – ideal for securing your cat's balcony, garden, and terrace. We also offer this cat safety net with custom measurements as well as an additional lead rope and/or reinforced edges. Technical information: Net length 1 m to max. 50 m Net height 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 4.0 m Mesh shape Square Mesh size (knot to knot) 40 mm Yarn diameter Approx. 1.5 mm Weather-resistant UV-stabilised, environmentally friendly, non-toxic Tear strength Approx. 55 kg per thread Colour Olive green & black How to order the correct net length If the net is attached later, it will hang more or less between the telescopic poles. However, this sagging requires additional net length that is often not taken into account when measuring the balcony. In most cases, an extra 5–10 cm is needed between the telescopic poles due to sagging. To ensure that you have enough net length later, we recommend ordering approx. 5–10% more net length than the measured balcony length. For smaller balconies up to 10 m in length, about 5 cm extra per measured balcony meter should be added. For balconies, enclosures, and similar installations over 10 m in length, we recommend ordering up to 10 cm extra per meter of balcony length. Which mesh size is the right one? The size of the cat, and especially the size of its head, determines the required mesh size. The mesh size must be chosen so that the cat's head cannot fit through the mesh under any circumstances, not even by force. How to find the right mesh size There is a simple little "Boy trick": take a thread and cut it to 20 cm. This is the size of a mesh with a 50 mm mesh size (4 sides of 5 cm each = 20 cm circumference). Hold both ends together with your forefinger and thumb to form a loop. Now try to pull this loop over your cat's head. If it succeeds, then 50 mm mesh size is too large. Then cut the thread to 16 cm and try again. If the loop slips over the head again, a 40 mm mesh size is too large. For a 30 mm mesh size, you need a thread length of 12 cm, and for a 20 mm mesh size, 8 cm. Please note We do not have ready-made nets. All nets are cut to length and height according to your specifications. We ask for your understanding that we can neither exchange nor take back these nets. All nets are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal: the right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the supply of goods that are not prefabricated and for whose manufacture an individual selection or determination by the consumer is decisive, or which are clearly tailored to the personal needs of the consumer.

BOY-Cat-Net in 20mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
BOY-Cat-Net in 20mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
A light but sturdy cat protection net for balconies and patios. This fine-meshed net is particularly recommended for young cats and for raising kittens. It gives your cat the all-important freedom it needs for healthy development right from the start. Thanks to the tight mesh, your cat cannot squeeze its head through or get tangled while playing. This allows your cat to go on its first exploration tours on the balcony from an early age. Plus point: All Boy cat nets can be cut to size afterwards without the mesh slipping or the knots opening. Note: Kittens have very sharp teeth and can bite through any cat net. Please check regularly that the net is securely attached and that there are no holes in it. BOY-Cat-Net in 40mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
BOY-Cat-Net in 40mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
This balcony protection net for cats has a mesh size of 40 mm and is therefore suitable for medium to large but not too heavy cats. Many cats love to spend a large part of the day outside on the balcony, especially in summer, enjoying the sights and sounds of their environment. Due to the small yarn diameter and dark colour, the net will barely be visible from a distance. All our Boy cat nets are made of strong, UV-stabilised net yarn, making them weatherproof for many years of use. Please do not forget to also order our braided line, which needs to be threaded through the first mesh row to prevent the net from sagging between the telescopic poles. Note: For heavy cats, we recommend our "Extra Strong" Boy cat net with a yarn diameter of 1.5 mm. Technical information: Net length 1 m to max. 50 m Net height 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m Mesh shape Square Mesh size (knot to knot) 40 mm Yarn diameter Approx. 1.0 mm Weather-resistant UV-stabilised, environmentally friendly, non-toxic Tear strength Approx. 30 kg per thread Colour Black How to order the correct net length If the net is attached later, it will hang more or less between the telescopic poles.

BOY-Cat-Net in 50mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
BOY-Cat-Net in 50mm mesh size, inconspicuous & tearproof - black - yarn 1.0mm Ø
This balcony protection net for cats has a mesh size of 50 mm and is therefore suitable for large but not too heavy cats. Many cats love to spend a large part of the day outside on the balcony, especially in summer, enjoying the sights and sounds of their environment. Due to the small yarn diameter and dark colour, the net will barely be visible from a distance. All our cat nets are made of strong, UV-stabilised net yarn, making them weatherproof for many years of use. Please do not forget to also order our braided line, which needs to be threaded through the first mesh row to prevent the net from sagging between the telescopic poles. Note: For heavy cats, we recommend our premium Boy cat net with a yarn diameter of 1.5 mm. Technical information: Net length 1 m to max. 50 m Net height 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m Mesh shape Square Mesh size (knot to knot) 50 mm Yarn diameter Approx. 1.0 mm Weather-resistant UV-stabilised, environmentally friendly, non-toxic Tear strength Approx. 30 kg per thread Colour Black How to order the correct net length If the net is attached later, it will hang more or less between the telescopic poles. However, this 'sagging' costs network length, which was not taken into account when measuring the balcony. Mostly it is only 5-10cm centimetres between the telescopic poles, which are additionally required due to sagging. In order to ensure that you have enough network length later, we also recommend ordering approx. 5-10% more network length than the measured balcony length. That for smaller balconies (up to 10m in length) an additional 5cm per measured balcony meter should be ordered separately. For balconies / enclosures etc. with a length over 10m we recommend to order up to 10cm more per meter of balcony length. Which mesh size is the right one? The size of the cat and especially the size of the head decide on the required mesh size. The mesh size must be chosen so that the cat's head does not fit through the mesh under any circumstances - not even by force. How to find out the right mesh size? There is a simple little 'Boy trick': Take a thread and cut it to 20cm. This is the size of a mesh with 50mm mesh size (4 sides each 5cm = 20cm circumference). Hold both ends together with forefinger and thumb, forming a loop. Now try to pull this loop over the head of your cat. If it succeeds, then 50mm mesh size is too big. Then cut the thread to 16cm length and try again. If the loop slips over the head again, a mesh size of 40mm is too big. For a 30mm mesh size you need a thread length of 12cm and for a 20mm mesh size a thread length of 8cm. Please note: We do not have ready-made nets. All nets are cut to length and height according to your specifications. We ask for your understanding that we can neither exchange nor take back these nets. Which mesh size is right for my cat?

Which cat net is right for my cat?

Indoor cats often sit by the window for hours, watching the world outside. They want to get out, smell the fresh air, and lie in the sun. However, especially in cities or near busy roads, letting them roam freely is simply too dangerous. A cat net solves exactly this problem: Your velvet paw can enjoy the balcony or the terrace, and you don't have to worry.

But which net is the right one? That depends on a few factors.

Mesh size: The head makes the decision

The mesh size depends on the size of your cat's head, not its weight. Under no circumstances should the head be able to fit through the mesh. Here is a simple test you can do at home: Cut a piece of string and form a loop. Try to slide it over your cat's head. If it slips over easily, the mesh is too large.

  • 50 mm mesh size (20 cm string): for large, robust cats
  • 40 mm mesh size (16 cm string): for medium-sized cats
  • 30 mm mesh size (12 cm string): for small, delicate velvet paws
  • 20 mm mesh size: for kittens being reared

Yarn thickness and tear resistance

The more active and heavier your cat is, the stronger the yarn should be. Our nets are available in several versions:

  • Standard (1.0 mm, approx. 30 kg tear resistance): for calm, light cats
  • Robust / Extra Strong (1.3 / 1.5 mm, approx. 55 kg): for active, adventurous animals
  • Extreme (braided yarn, 100 kg per thread): for true escape artists and biters. Despite its strength, it is only 1 mm thick, barely visible, and features double-knotted meshes

Important to know: Cats have very sharp teeth. Anything you can cut with a pair of scissors, your cat can potentially bite through as well. Depending on the net, this will take more or less time. If you want to be on the safe side, choose the Extreme line.

Your cat's behavior

Does your cat prefer to comfortably observe the hustle and bustle on the street? Or does it systematically test every weak point in the net? This makes a difference when choosing the yarn thickness. Calm animals get along well with Standard nets. Climbing artists and escapees need more.

Color: Black is less conspicuous than white

That sounds strange at first, but it is true. Dark nets visually blend into the background, similar to a mosquito net. Black is well-suited for balconies against a bright sky, while olive green fits well in the garden. White or light-colored nets are much more noticeable. All colors are UV-stabilized and designed for continuous outdoor use.

Measurements: Better to order a little more

Cats can jump up to two meters high from a standing position. The net should be at least 2 m high, measured from the highest possible jumping surface. Measure the width and length from wall to wall and add 5–10%. The net sags slightly between the poles and needs this extra margin. You can easily cut it to size on-site with normal household scissors, ideally once it is already hung up.

A word about the knots

Sometimes you might notice an extra knot in the net that looks slightly out of place. This happens when a thread runs out during production and a new one is tied on. This is not a defect, but unavoidable with handmade nets. All knots, including these, are tied so securely that they will not come undone. The protective function is not compromised in any way.

Our nets are sold by the meter and custom-cut to your specific dimensions. For suitable mounting options, take a look at our telescopic rods and over-climb protection.
