What began over half a century ago in a Hamburg basement is now a proud third-generation family business – with a clear focus on safe and well-thought-out solutions for cat protection.
The Beginnings in a Hamburg Basement
It all started in 1969 with our founder Paul Boy. In a simple basement of his Hamburg home, he laid the foundation for today's HF Boy Handelsgesellschaft. From the beginning, his focus was on professional processing: Paul did not produce his own raw nets but purchased them to refine them with great craftsmanship and passion – for example, by adding robust edge overlocking. His custom-made nets found application in various areas: from headrests to classic fishing nets and many other specialized solutions.
The Second Generation Takes Over
Towards the end of the 1980s, Paul's sons joined the company. Eventually, Holger Boy took over the management and successfully continued his father's vision with new ideas and great commitment.
Pioneers in E-Commerce
When the internet was still in its infancy, Holger Boy showed true pioneering spirit: He brought the company online at the very beginning of the digital age. This made us one of the very first – if not the first – online shops for cat nets ever. Over many years, Holger successfully built up this segment, drove product development for cat protection, and managed the company until 2024.
Tradition Meets Future
History repeats itself: Just like his father did back then, Holger Boy decided in 2024 to pass the helm to the next generation. Today, HF Boy Handelsgesellschaft is led by Henry Boy and Constantin Boy.
