Cat-proof garden fence

A garden offers cats valuable variety and fresh air – but only if they can't leave it unnoticed. With a BOY cat net on your garden fence, you can create a safe outdoor area without compromising the appearance of your garden. The fine-mesh olive-green net is barely visible from a few meters away and reliably withstands even curious climbing talents.

Why isn't a normal fence enough?

Cats can jump up to 200 cm from a standing position, which is why a simple fence usually doesn't offer enough protection. The crucial factors are the right height and an anti-climb barrier at the top edge to prevent the cat from swinging over the net. This can be implemented safely with the right mounting accessories.

The perfect solution for the garden fence

For many gardens, extendable telescopic poles are particularly suitable. They can be installed on the fence or with mounts in the ground and combined with a cat net and anti-climb barrier. This creates a flexible and stable solution that can be adapted to different fence heights.

Step-by-step guide to a cat-safe garden fence

  1. Plan the route: First, check the entire fence line and look for corners, gates, and potential escape routes.
  2. Set the poles: Place the telescopic poles at even intervals so that the net doesn't sag too much later.
  3. Install the anti-climb barrier: The inward-facing attachment makes it difficult for your cat to get over the top edge.
  4. Attach the net: Stretch the cat net cleanly and secure it with suitable net binders.
  5. Secure the bottom edge: There must be no gap at the bottom either, so your cat cannot lift the net.
  6. Check everything: Finally, carefully check all transitions, corners, and connections.

What you should pay particular attention to

Especially in the garden, escape routes often arise not at the top, but at the bottom or at side transitions. Therefore, make sure that the net also closes cleanly at the bottom and fits snugly against fence posts. For long fence sections, a tension that is as even as possible is also recommended so that the net remains stable even in wind.

Also combine terrace or enclosure

If your garden adjoins a terrace, you can secure both areas together effectively. On our page Making your terrace cat-safe, you will find further practical tips. This creates a safe outdoor area where your cat can move freely.
