Installation Tips for Securing a Balcony Loggia with a Balcony Net

A loggia can be made cat-proof with hooks, stainless steel cable, or telescopic poles.

With Hooks:

An effective protection can be achieved with just a few hooks, a braided cord, and the BOY cat net.

To do this, attach the hooks, either inside or outside the masonry, about 10 cm from the edge, at a distance of approx. 20 cm. If the BOY cat net is attached from the outside, your cat can sit on the parapet wall, or flowers can be easily cared for.

To ensure the cat net is stretched across the entire area, we recommend threading a braided cord through the end mesh of the net on all four sides. Hook the braided cord together with the BOY cat net into the designated hooks. Pull the braided cord taut and tie it off.

  • Braided cord
  • BOY telescopic poles for tensioning

With Telescopic Poles:

Telescopic poles for tensioning can be easily stretched from the inside in front of the opening. However, the prerequisite is that the floor and ceiling are made of concrete.

A telescopic pole should be installed approximately every 2 m. To achieve more stability, the telescopic poles for tensioning can be connected at the top with our connecting rods and connecting elements (see frame system). This also provides a neat and straight net finish under the ceiling.

  • Braided cord
  • Net ties 140 mm

Option:

  • Frame connecting elements
  • Frame connecting rods

With a Stainless Steel Cable:

The stainless steel cable is stretched into the loggia opening like a frame. For this purpose, a (very) strong eye screw is screwed into the masonry at each corner. Then the stainless steel cable is threaded through all eyelets and tightly tensioned with the cable tensioner. The cat net is attached to the steel cable with our 100 mm net ties. Done.

Required Installation Accessories (with stainless steel cable):

  • BOY cat net
  • Stainless steel cable set (length according to the circumference of the loggia opening)
  • 4× extra strong eye screws (best from the hardware store)
  • Net ties 100 mm long
